Break The Cycle | Learn to live within our means

I saw this to be so true in Papua New Guinea and we have to break this culture.

I share this here and hope it impacts on us to break this cycle

BY PETER KORUGL

At any given day, you go into Boroko, you will note a few dirty looking lot, sitting at various locations, with a piece of cloth spread in front of them calling out for a 10 toea or 20 toea. This is life for the beggers in the city.

Elsewhere a Haus krai goes up and it remains for weeks while the body of the deceased is kept in the morgue, for the same period until the relatives think they have collected enough money to spent on the burial expenses and pocket the rest.
Somewhere in the Highlands a family is planning a bride price payment, and unlike in the past, this family does not have enough cash or pigs but will still go ahead and start the process. In the next few weeks, they will collect enough donations to pay the bride price and spend the left overs on themselves.
Somewhere in the public service, a govt department is planning it's annual conference and it's organising committee goes to work. The committee will write to as many business houses for donations and sponsorships to host the conference. When enough money is collected, the department will go ahead with the meeting, using the funds it collected to pay for the cost.
In any sporting codes, clubs always write to business houses for donations and sponsorships. With the donated funds, the clubs will buy the sporting gear for their teams and use most of it on administration costs.
When the government hand down its budget every November, it's always a deficit budget, meaning our govt is planning to spend money it does not have or make so we have to go borrow to make up for the shortfall in the budget.
It is true what some people say about us. We are a country and people that love spending money we don't have or make. It's a shame really when you look at what we have.
Spending money we don't have or make is in our DNA.
Sometimes we have to learn to live within our means.

The National General Elections campaign for Agarobe in 2017

Here is the video that comprehensively spells out Robert Agarobe's development vision and how to approach it for Central Province in 2017.

He has kept the development vision and plans consistent throughout his five year term.

He has set out some foundational elements that should propel the practical execution of the development plans.

One of them is to increase the internal revenue for the province.

Why should Robert Agarobe return as Governor for Central Province

Merry Christmas to all you beautiful people of Central Province and our friends, today being a special day let's celebrate with joy and happiness as through our maker all things are possible.

Robert Agarobe at Kuriva during his 2017 campaign

Central Province is no exception as we are blessed with an abundance of Gods blessings compared with others.

We have our seas, rivers and land that are over flowing with food and beauty that's complimented with a beautiful environment and a special type of people that reflect Gods beauty in our attitude as we love to sing dance and be merry, and that's how God designed us to show off his blessings to the world.

Let's keep on singing and dancing all the while let's also take care of these blessings by working our land that God gifted us through agriculture and at the same time let's conserve protect and manage these blessings through Tourism and compliment all these through sports as mapped out in our SMART CENTRAL PLAN, for We are only temporary custodians and need to jealously execute all of these for our future generations.
Through the Marape's Pangu Government I was enabled to deliver to My people with the following very important Christmas presents.
1. OUR VERY OWN PROVINCIAL HOSPITAL to be built on our own Land at Bautama at a cost of K700,000,000.00 that will serve our people of Central Province and our friends who come in for specialized care.
2. RESTORING OUR IDENTITY by taking back our land where our seat of government is located. The Minister for Lands Hon John Rosso on behalf of the Marape Pangu government presented the Land Title for our Konedobu CPGHQ back to us, A VERY SIGNIFICANT STATEMENT in recognition by Marape's PANGU government towards the indigenous people and provincial government of this beautiful land.
3. CORRECTING THE WRONGS, the Marape Pangu government and our coalition partners and some members of the opposition helped pass a historical landmark bill in Parliament by giving back what rightfully belongs to us by getting IRC to now pay directly to Central our 10% GST including 3% Gulf and 2% Motukoita assembly.
Also for the sake of our people of central province the Governor of Central will now sit on the NCD Board as a Commissioner to address our issues that we face constantly in the city that you all know of very well.
THE DRIVE FOR WHATS RIGHTFULLY OURS WILL CONTINUE
I take this opportunity today on Christmas Day to thank our Prime Minister Hon James Marape and all our Leaders of our National Parliament for the support and understanding you have given to us the people of Central Province.
All our people of Papua New Guinea and our friends far and wide I thank you all for being our friends through good times and bad times.
My people of Central Province here at home and also far and wide, let's not be complacent, let's not wait for uncle to do it for us as our destiny will only be created by us leading the way with the support of all our friends,
MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU ALL AND GOD BLESS PAPUA NIUGINI AND GOD BLESS CENTRAL PROVINCE.
Doing it the Central way,
slowly but surely.
Hon Chief R Agarobe CSM, GCM, MP.
GOVERNOR CENTRAL PROVINCE.

Why does the public pay fees to access shower facilities at Ela Beach

BY JUNIOUR UKAHA

Is this shower/bath facility at Ela Beach owned by NCDC or a private person/contractor? Yesterday (Dec, 26, 2021) they charged me K10 for using the bath facility.

That's K2 each for two adults and K1 each for four kids.

They also charged other users the same fees.

They also charged K1 for adults and 0.50t for kids who are using the adjacent toilet facilities.

There were no notices there telling the public that they were supposed to pay these fees.

Instead, while we were having our shower/bath a lady approached us and informed us that we were to pay the said fees.

I was surprised and inquired about the ownership of the facility.

She said the facility is owned by NCDC but was managed by a private contractor.

My concern is: how can an important public recreational area be given to a private contractor to operate?

We pay taxes to the Government to have access to these facilities?

Why are we paying again for these services?

Please, can someone in NCDC explain this situation for the public's benefit?

Best Ways to Make Money on YouTube

2 BEST Ways to Make Money on YouTube

Hi there. Every creator wants to make money on YouTube. The key is to focus on the few initiatives that will be the most PROFITABLE for you. Below are 2 best ways to make money on YouTube.

1. Create sponsored content

The easiest way to make a living on YouTube is to create sponsored content.

We know creators who earn $5,000 per month from sponsored content and only have 10k viewers per video. Imagine that? With just 10k viewers/video these creators are earning $60,000 per year by selling 4 sponsors per week at $25 CPM (cpm means cost per 1k viewers).

Here is how creators sell sponsors. They have a 5 video minimum booking, so every sponsor pays $1,250 per deal at $250 per video ($25 CPM). The package they usually sell is a 60 second midroll ad and a 10 second endroll ad. Most creators sell sponsorships themselves via email part time.

Once creators have a fully working sales cycle, then they hire salespeople to sell for them. NO SALES ARE INBOUND. Every sale you have to find and close.

From your end, start reaching out via email to potential companies who seem like a good fit for your channel. We recommend selling to ecommerce and tech companies, but make sure they are MID LEVEL (less than 250 employees) and not too big. Smaller companies will be easier to close. You can find anybody's email online and focus on contacting employees in charge of MARKETING.

In summary, we highly recommend doing sponsored content because you can make good money.

2. Sell YOUR products to viewers

The second good way to make money on YouTube is to sell YOUR products to viewers. This allows you to create lots of content and USE your products in the videos.

Some ideas for products you can sell include T-shirts, baseball caps, artwork, covid masks, socks, tote bags, mugs, hats, pens, and bandanas. Remember to make your products unique and don't spread yourself too thin. Find the 1 product that fans LOVE TO BUY and put all focus on that item.

To get things started, set up your ecommerce website and create the product you want to sell. There are many online services that allow you to set up your website in 1 day. Don't be embarrassed to show off your products. Many creators wish they started pushing their MERCH earlier in their career. This is a good way to make money.

We hope you enjoyed this blog.

Happy New Year 2022

Time flies for busy bees.

It's another New Year and I wish you all my readers a prosperous 2022.

Take the challenges for last year as a stepping stone for growth and prosperity this year.

One of the important events for us this year is the National General Elections so be a part of it as it as having a functioning and service delivery oriented government ensures our livelihoods are better.

Being a spectator wouldn't help much is defining what government we will have.

Last year I lost my dad in June and before that GC Sir Michael Somare passed on.

Before Sir Michael was Sir Mekere Morauta, a champion of privatisation.

We also lost Sir Pita Lus, Sir Paulias Matane and many more prominent and elderly leaders.

What I do accept despite the mourning is that it is a period of changing of the guards.

Therefore young generations must now stand up and take the baton of leadership to chart our new development pathway that must yield prosperity.

Like I said, we must actively part take in the National General Elections this year.

A serious reminder on a different note, please do not celebrate New Years by breaking bottles on the roads or burning tyres.
